The Cryfemal group is one of the best Depressive Black Metal bands in Europe. It was formed in 1997 in Madrid, Spain, by Ebola, the sole official member. Since Ebola was skilled with guitar, bass, and drums, he decided to create short, instrumental tracks, write lyrics based on them, and then mix the final work with vocals. Within a year, Ebola recorded ten tracks and wrote lyrics for them. The track *Reddar Tenebris* was the first one he recorded. In this way, about twenty minutes of music and six tracks were recorded and released. This demo, released in mid-2000 at Ebola’s personal expense, didn’t generate much profit but was well-received, encouraging Ebola to produce his main demo, *Fuck You God*.

To start anew, Ebola needed some funding and support. He approached the Spanish Black Metal band *The Art of Blasphemy* for help with his new album. Vocalists Raiblood and Necroseheiim from the band traveled to Madrid to discuss the project. Raiblood took on lead guitar, Necroseheiim handled keyboards, and for bass and drums, Ebola enlisted friends named Cadaver, Motërhel, and Grüschenka. They began working, and in March 2003, they released the demo *Fuck You God*. Its strong reception caught the attention of Spanish record labels, prompting the band to quickly prepare a four-track EP, *Listen… Death Is Coming*, to secure a contract and officially register the band. *Nigra Mors Records* signed Ebola and arranged a split release with another Spanish Folk Black Metal band, *Xeriön*. This 12-track split included Cryfemal’s *Fuck You God* demo and Xeriön’s *Jainko Nagia* demo. Later in 2003, Cryfemal released the four-track demo *Escucha… La Muerte Persigue* through *War Productions*, closing out the year.

After this intensive collaboration, the same members became official members of Cryfemal, maintaining a consistent lineup for albums, concerts, and events, though the band remained registered under Ebola’s name. *Raising Deads… Burning Alives*, Ebola’s first album, was a compilation of four demos and EPs. It quickly elevated the band and its members, showcasing their strength with excellent work. The album featured 9 tracks and ran for 36:44 minutes. During this time, Ebola lost a friend named Necro to murder, which deeply affected him. After a short break, Ebola came up with the idea for an exceptional video shot in Madrid’s *La Almudena Cemetery*. The video, performed in the cemetery and released across Europe, caused a stir, earning praise from the Depressive Black Metal band *Godüs*. The album *With the Help of the Devil*, released in October 2004 by *Trinity Records*, had 11 tracks and a duration of 35:36 minutes. It took about 11 months to prepare, drawing inspiration from the previous album but with a noticeably different, faster-paced rhythm.

*Escucha a los Muertos* is an album compiling Cryfemal’s best works, featuring 15 tracks from their finest efforts, released as a selection by *Regimental Records* in February 2005. The split between Cryfemal and *Xeriön* was a successful collaboration between the Folk and Depressive Black Metal bands, well-received in Spain. Notably, only 666 copies of this album were produced. Ebola’s latest work to date is the album *Perpetua Funebre Gloria*, with 7 tracks and a duration of 41:31 minutes. This album, the first to feature lyrics in a Depressive/Death style, was powerfully and beautifully crafted. Released by *Oniric Records*, it was reviewed in major European magazines. *Apoteosis Oculta*, Cryfemal’s new album, is set to be released on September 1, 2007, by *Oniric Records* and *Warfront Prod*, featuring 8 tracks and a 45-minute duration.

Cryfemal’s video work includes two music videos: one for their standout track *Segunda Muerte* and another for the 2005 album cover, depicting Ebola crucified upside-down, lasting about three minutes. Their participation in the 2003 Extreme Metal Festival is one of the band’s proudest moments in live performances and concerts.
